Overview

A major advantage of hydrogen is that it can be produced from renewable energy and unlike electricity it can stored in large amounts for extended periods of time. For that reason, hydrogen produced on an industrial scale could play an important part in the transition to clean energy for the future. A viable hydrogen infrastructure requires that hydrogen be able to be stored where it is produced and delivered to the point of usage. Infrastructure includes the pipelines, trucks, storage facilities, compressors, and dispensers involved in the process of delivering hydrogen.
